Hi I'm Black Country Gaz.
I'm a singer, songwriter and artist Born and bred in the Black Country 1958, A Tiptonian child.
I remember loving music from the early sixties, my first guitar
was a Hofner Committee which was bigger than me. I wrote
my first song around thirteen years of age, my older sister
Melody asked me how I could write songs like that at my age.
I played in local club bands with other Tiptonians, one being
Eric Cox, and my cousin Jackie.
Simply the best time of my life!
There's always been artist in me; my first job was as a sign writer. My first Glastonbury Festival experience was in the mid eighties, and I have produced several oil paintings of the festival. Glastonbury Festival where kind enough to let me have an art gallery there three years running 2008 - 2010. Displaying my paintings there was an amazing experience, especially as I could watch all the acts from my gallery which was facing the Other Stage. I made many friends there and at other festivals who have let me display my paintings. I hope to get painting again in the future when my musical interest settle down a little.
I've wrote many songs over the years but never really tried to get a record deal. You might notice a retro feel to some of my songs, I like to think of them as songs that got away, or missed the boat. I never restrict myself to any particular style. I often dream of songs and run down stairs, record the idea rough and then back to sleep. Oh and did I mention how proud I am to be from The Black Country!.
I love to hear from people interested in my art work, singing and song writing or about generally everything else! Please send me your thoughts using the form below and I shall endeavour to reply to you as soon as I can.
